Are you reading this for yourself?

Tentatively counting down the days to an operation? Or maybe just arriving home from the hospital? Or months down the line from your last appointment, wondering if things will change? Wondering if surgery is even for you? If you want to understand your options and have more confidence about what comes next – this call is for you.

Or perhaps, you are here for someone you love?

Watching someone you care about struggle to get around the way they used to? Seeing them in pain and not quite knowing what to do? Maybe they seem okay on the surface, but something doesn’t sit right with you.

You can book the free call on their behalf, or come along with them. We’ll talk you both through what recovery should look like, what to keep an eye on, and how you can actually help. You don’t need to know the right questions to ask – we’ll cover it.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Maybe you’ve put off getting help because you’re not sure what you actually need. Or maybe you’ve gone ahead with surgery, left the hospital with a printout, and now you’re just… waiting. Waiting for a follow-up six weeks away, not sure if what you’re feeling is normal. We’re here to fill that gap – with our AHPRA-registered physios alongside you the whole way.

For patients considering surgery

Not sure whether surgery is the right path for you?

If you are still figuring out if surgery is even what you want – whether to go ahead, hold off, or try a different route first – you don’t have to work it out on your own.

You have options, including conservative management: growing in understanding your condition, building your strength, improving how you move, and getting on top of the pain, so that whatever you decide, you’re deciding from a much better place. Some patients go through this process and find surgery still makes sense for them. Others find the improvements are enough that they want to hold off for some time, or even not go ahead with surgery at all. This will depend on you and your condition. Either way, starting now puts you ahead of where you’d otherwise be.

What is prehabilitation?
Prehabilitation means starting physio before your operation – this could be helpful to improve surgical outcomes, or even forgo having surgery at all (depending on your condition!). We think prehabilitation is one of the most underutilised tools in the whole recovery process, and we’d love to help you make the most of it WHATEVER your goal is.

Had your surgery? Here’s where we come in.

Recovery after surgery is messier than the discharge paperwork makes it sound. Without a proper rehab plan, it’s easy to end up second-guessing everything, doing too much, not enough, or just not knowing whether what you’re feeling is normal or not.

We work with patients recovering from a range of orthopaedic surgeries, including:

ACL Reconstruction

Get back on the field properly, not just eventually

Rotator Cuff Surgery

Reach, lift, and move without pain holding you back

Hip Replacement

Walk comfortably, stay independent, keep up with life

Knee Replacement

Stop dreading the stairs and get back to doing what you love

Other Orthopaedic Procedures

Every patient is assessed individually

How we do things at PTC

We don’t guess. Every patient gets a proper process because we’ve seen what rehab looks like when it’s done well and what it looks like when it’s not. There’s a real difference.
We start with a proper assessment

First, we need to actually understand what’s going on with you. We look at your strength, how you’re moving, your range of motion, and what your surgery involves. From there we put together a plan that’s built around you specifically, not a generic program off a shelf.

You follow a structured 10-session programme

The Reach Your Peak Plan is 10 sessions built specifically for post-op patients. Each session builds on the last, we track how you’re progressing, and we adjust things if we need to. The cost is $1,062 for the full program, that’s 10 properly guided sessions with someone tracking your progress the whole way through.

We assess that you’re actually ready

We use objective testing to get a real read on whether your body is actually ready to go back to the things you want to do. Feeling good and being ready aren’t always the same thing, we want you to know the difference before you find out the hard way.

Not sure of the right step forward? Let’s talk.

Everyone’s situation is different. We’d rather have a conversation with you first than ask you to sign up for something before you know if it’s right.

That’s why we offer a free 15-minute call with one of our physios. By the end of it you’ll have a clearer picture of:

Supporting a parent or loved one through recovery?

The fact you’re here looking into this already says a lot. Helping someone through surgical recovery is hard, especially when you don’t really know what normal progress looks like, what they need from you, or whether what you’re seeing is something to worry about. A few things that are worth paying attention to:
Swelling or redness around the surgical site that isn’t settling down
Pain that seems to be getting worse rather than slowly improving
Not moving or bearing weight the way the surgeon said they should be
Low mood or withdrawal that’s affecting how much they’re engaging with recovery
If any of that rings a bell, or if they just don’t have a proper rehab plan in place yet, it’s worth having a chat with one of our physios. You can book the call for them, or come along together. We’ll make sure you both leave with a clear picture of what’s going on and what to do about it.
