Dry Needling in Lidcombe
If tight muscles, trigger points, or persistent tension are slowing you down, dry needling may help. It's a targeted technique where fine, single-use needles are inserted into tight areas of muscle to reduce pain and restore normal movement.

How does dry needling work?
When muscles develop trigger points – those stubborn knots that cause pain, stiffness, or referred discomfort, dry needling helps release that tension at its source. The needle creates a small local response in the muscle, encouraging it to relax and improving blood flow to the area.
It’s different from acupuncture. Dry needling is grounded in modern anatomy and musculoskeletal science, targeting specific muscular issues identified during your assessment.
What does it feel like?
Dry needling is commonly used for:
- Neck and shoulder tension
- Lower back tightness
- Headaches related to muscle tension
- Sports injuries and muscle strains
- Chronic pain and muscular stiffness
Standalone dry needling vs. dry needling in a physio session
We offer dry needling as a standalone 30-minute session, ideal if you know what area needs attention and want targeted treatment without a full physiotherapy consultation.
If you’re already seeing us for physiotherapy, your physio may also include dry needling as part of your regular session when it’s clinically relevant, at no extra charge. The standalone service is for those times when dry needling is all you need.
