Physiotherapy after a motor vehicle accident

We see drivers, passengers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians with injuries after a motor vehicle accident.

  • Whiplash and neck pain
  • Back pain and stiffness
  • Shoulder, arm and hand injuries
  • Hip, knee and ankle injuries
  • Injuries that have required surgery

Your assessment helps us work out the right treatment and whether you need other medical care.

Arranging your first appointment

  1. Tell us where things are up to

Have your insurer and claim or reference number ready, if you have them. Let us know about your injury and any treatment you have already received.

  2. We check the treatment arrangements

Our team checks your funding and explains any costs before you attend. If your claim is still being organised, we help clarify what applies to your appointment.

  3. Meet your physiotherapist

We assess your injury, discuss what you want to get back to and agree on a starting plan. You will know what to work on between appointments.

Bring what you have

Your claim details, treatment approval and any relevant referrals, scans or reports. If something is missing, give us a call and we can help work out what is needed.

What your recovery plan looks like at PTC

Our four stages help us plan your rehabilitation around what you need to do. Your starting point and pace depend on your injury, progress and goals.

  1. Restoration

Manage pain and move more comfortably.

We help you understand your symptoms and find a manageable starting point for movement, exercise and daily activities.

  2. Rebuilding

    Build strength for everyday tasks.

We gradually increase what your body can manage. Your exercises reflect your goals, from carrying groceries to lifting at work or walking further.

  3. Resilience

    Prepare for more demanding activities.

We practise the movements and tasks you are working towards. How you respond helps us decide when to progress and when to adjust.

  4. Thriving

    Keep your progress going.

We help you build a plan you can continue independently, with advice on managing flare ups and knowing when to seek support.

Recovery can include setbacks. These stages may overlap, and we review your plan as you progress.

What happens in your appointments

Assessment and regular review

We assess your movement, strength and the tasks relevant to your injury. As treatment progresses, we check what has changed and explain what to work on next.

Treatment you can put into practice

Your plan may include hands on treatment, exercise and advice for daily activities. We show you what to do between appointments and adjust it as your needs change.

Communication with your care team

With your consent, we share relevant progress updates with your GP and insurer and send treatment requests when needed. We explain what we are recommending, so you stay involved.

Questions about CTP physiotherapy

Want to talk it through?
Call (02) 7226 3616.

Will I need to pay for treatment?

We can bill your insurer directly for treatment once they have confirmed funding. Before your appointment, we check your claim details and treatment arrangements.

Can I book while my claim is being organised?

Yes! You can contact us and start treatment privately while we work through insurer approvals, so you can begin your care without waiting.

Do I need a GP referral?

Although a GP referral is not always necessary, we recommend involving your trusted GP to assess your injuries and complete the medical documents for your claim.

How many appointments will I need?

This depends on your injury and how you progress. After your initial consultation with us, your physio will explain your treatment plan.

Can I move my treatment to PTC?

Yes, provided you have spoken with your insurer about transferring your treatment.
